The old KONP site was framed in old technology and difficult to navigate. The objective for a new site was to dynamically generate local news and to increase web traffic, without adding additional staff or time to manage the site.
We installed several databases. Sports news, national news, northwest news, and the weather are automatically updated every three hours, as part of the proprietary BlueTux Internet Services SitePro system. Site Pro allows KONP to update local news and other information instantaneously with no html coding. There is also a script that allows users to see who is on-air when they log into the site, with a picture of the on-air personality.
KONP was receiving fewer than 1,000 visitors a month before the update, now they receive approximately 10,000 unique visitors and 25,000 visits a month. BlueTux has recently installed a banner management system. On-line advertising is another revenue stream for KONP. They are earning enough through online advertising to cover all of KONP’s maintenance costs plus additional income.
